Just announced: Level Access and eSSENTIAL Accessibility agree to merge! Read more.

On March 14, 2014, the FCC released a Public Notice to remind service providers and equipment manufacturers to maintain records of their efforts to make their telecommunications services and equipment, advanced communications services (ACS) and equipment, and Internet browsers built into mobile phones accessible to people with disabilities, as required under Sections 255, 716, and 718 of the Communications Act.

We would like to add our voice to that of the FCC and remind our customers and partners covered by the relevant portions of the Act to complete their annual certifications.  If its a phone, phone service, ACS service or something that can access ACS it’s covered – file a certification!  If you don’t know if it is covered give us a call.

The Recordkeeping Compliance Certification and Contact Information Registry annual certifications must be completed by April 1, 2014 covering the 2013 operating year.   The RCCCI Registry requires three high level pieces of information:

  1. annual recordkeeping compliance certifications;
  2. current contact information for consumers; and
  3. current U.S. agent for service contact information.

If your organization has filed that in years past consider this a friendly reminder.
