There has been a flurry of assistive technology updates this month with others coming in a few weeks. These updates will surely provide improvements to users and increase support for new techniques such as accessible rich Internet applications (ARIA).
- iOS 6 is set to be released this Wednesday September 19th. This will include updates for VoiceOver, Zoom, and Assistive Touch and allow multiple assistive features to be run simultaneously.
- SuperNova 13 was released last week (September 11th) with ARIA support
- JAWS 14 Public Beta was released last week with many feature updates including impressive ARIA support
- Window-Eyes 8 will likely be updated when Windows 8 is released in October. Public list messages indicate full ARIA support for Window-s 8.
- Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12 was just released
- Windows 8 is set for release on October 26th with updates to Narrator and the Magnification feature.
