Beyond DIY: Scaling Accessibility with Confidence

AI is rapidly changing how accessibility work happens. The same practices that fueled progress yesterday won’t always drive the same results today, especially as development velocity increases and digital portfolios become more complex. So, how can you build a program that’s durable enough to withstand change?

Join us for an executive-level conversation on how organizations sustain accessibility progress as they scale. Tailored specifically for KKR portfolio companies, this session will explore what happens when DIY approaches reach their limits, and the core practices that help teams evolve beyond grassroots efforts and achieve lasting impact.

What you'll learn

In this session for product, engineering, and design leaders at KKR portfolio companies, you’ll discover:

  • How accessibility programs evolve at scale: Why the approach that worked for one team or product starts to strain as your organization, tech stack, and digital portfolio grow more complex.
  • Where DIY still delivers, and where it falls short: Where decentralized, in-house efforts stay effective and where outside expertise and validation adds value.
  • What AI is changing: How AI is reshaping accessibility workflows, and why more automation and faster development don’t automatically produce accessible outcomes.
  • Why human expertise still matters: The role experienced practitioners play alongside AI and automated testing, from interpreting context to finding the issues tools miss.
  • Who owns accessibility across the organization: Practical ways to build governance, ownership, and accountability across product, engineering, design, accessibility, compliance, and executive teams.
  • How to assess your current approach: Questions to help you evaluate what’s working in your program today and where a strategic partner can help.
