Test Smarter, Deliver Better: Spring ’25 Release Recap
Apr 22, 2025
Accessibility testing is a pillar of any effective digital accessibility program. At Level Access, we’re committed to providing organizations with the market’s most advanced suite of tools for evaluating accessibility—and we’re continually expanding our solution set.
This spring, we introduced several powerful new features aimed at enabling teams to not only test more effectively, but also use test results to drive meaningful progress. Keep reading for highlights from these releases, and access our Spring ’25 Product Release webinar on-demand for in-depth insight on what’s new in the Level Access Platform.
Test Accelerator: The ultimate tool for accessibility testers
Say hello to Test Accelerator, a new tool designed to help accessibility testers conduct audits more efficiently by streamlining their testing process. With Test Accelerator, manual testers can:
- Conduct faster audits by rapidly logging issue details, integrating automation for commonly repeatable tests, and automatically capturing all issues in one central source of truth.
- Create consistency across teams by centralizing test cases and discovered issues, and streamlining reporting.
- Kick-start remediation by allowing testers, or other members of their team, to seamlessly sync findings directly into developer workflows.
Why create a tool for manual testers?
Many testers are spending most of their time on work that’s not testing. Too often, testers struggle to make progress because they’re burning hours on manual administrative tasks—like writing down issues in a Word document or Excel file, sharing findings with colleagues, coordinating testing with other testers, and creating tickets for developers. We developed Test Accelerator to reduce testers’ administrative workload, so they can focus more on what matters: testing experiences and supporting their teams.
Conformance Score: Measure accessibility impact
Accessibility testing isn’t just about identifying issues—it’s about empowering teams to fix them. To help teams measure the effectiveness of their accessibility remediation efforts, our team introduced the Conformance Score, a metric that provides clear, actionable insight into manual audit results.
The Conformance Score is built on three core principles:
- User experience: The score should make it easy to identify the most critical issues affecting accessibility, so teams can focus their remediation efforts on areas with the highest impact.
- Accuracy and alignment: The score should strengthen alignment between platform metrics and program goals, improving overall testing effectiveness.
- Focus and continuous improvement: The score should provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement, helping teams strategically prioritize accessibility efforts.
Inspired by the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT®) framework, this score provides a transparent view of accessibility health across supported standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Plus, the Conformance Score is just one part of an even more detailed Conformance Report, which offers breakdowns of findings, severity levels, and remediation strategies.
The Conformance Score will be available later in Q2, 2025.
On the horizon: New mobile, CI, and local testing tools
In addition to expanding our solution’s manual testing capabilities, we’re hard at work on several new automated testing features. These advancements empower teams to:
- Test mobile apps without a single line of code: Building on our Mobile Testing SDK, we’re introducing a new, no-code mobile testing tool. Available now in a limited beta, this intuitive tool enables users to conduct thorough mobile accessibility tests without writing a single line of code. Just take a version of your app from any stage in development, upload it to the platform, navigate the app, and test for instant accessibility insights.
- Inject accessibility directly into the CI pipeline: Our new CI pipeline tool (available now in a limited beta) allows development teams to seamlessly incorporate accessibility at the project level with integrations to platforms like GitHub and Bitbucket. This tool not only provides teams with insight into the accessibility status of every pull request their developers make, but also enables them to set benchmarks, receive alerts, and proactively address accessibility issues within their development pipelines.
- Scan protected assets with ease: Soon, teams will be able to effortlessly scan protected environments from the platform, without the need to install anything on potentially restricted corporate devices. More details on this new scanning tool coming later in Q2.
