TORONTO, April 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — eSSENTIAL Accessibility is proud to announce that Laboratory Corporation of America®Holdings (LabCorp®), the clinical laboratory providing leading-edge medical testing and diagnostic knowledge services globally, now offers the eSSENTIAL Accessibility desktop application on its sites to better communicate with and serve individuals with disabilities. LabCorp joins other leading brands and companies in making this app available.

The eSSENTIAL Accessibility app empowers people with physical disabilities to access LabCorp’s website (www.labcorp.com) and other web-based services and products. People who cannot browse the web by typing or using a mouse due to conditions such as paralysis or amputation can use the app to browse completely hands free using tools like motion technology and voice-activated controls. With the app, people with disabilities will now be able to utilize LabCorp Beacon:Patient, the online portal where patients can manage their testing services — from finding a lab and scheduling appointments to accessing results and paying bills.

The eSSENTIAL Accessibility app provides keyboard and mouse replacement tools that help people with physical, reading and age-related disabilities navigate the web. The app is free of charge to the end-user and can be downloaded by clicking the blue wheelchair and keyboard symbol located on the homepage of labcorp.com. Once downloaded, the app can be used on any website.
