In this week’s featured video, Web Accessibility 101: Visual Focus Indication, Accessibility Consultant Chris Lane explains and demonstrates the importance of visual focus identification for keyboard users.

To understand this important keyboard accessibility topic Chris recommends putting away the mouse and using only the keyboard to interact with the web.  Many people with different types of mobility impairments cannot use a mouse and use only the keyboard to interact with their computer on a daily basis. Without a mouse pointer to track the current location on the screen, a user must rely much more on the user interface.  This is why visual focus indication is so important for keyboard users.
